FREYANow this is some seriously cute stuff - if you've ever wondered where Elle Woods would buy her undies look no further. While there is a good mix of basic and bold the really over the top bras are what make this line special. As far as sizing goes Freya has the biggest selection of all the brands - they extend up to a J cup though make sure to measure and follow the sizing guide carefully. As I said what I love about these are their penchant for brightness. The whimsical color combinations and details really make the bras fun. I personally love The Daisy bra for its sheer joie de vivre. The lime green and hot pink are so relentlessly girly I can't help but smile.

FAYREFORMOoh la la! These are among the more decadent offerings with styles that scream boudoir moreso than bedroom. Lots of lace and little bows - it all screams French coquette or madame depending on who you ask. Everything is very sensual and elegant - the sort of stuff one might wish to save for a special occasion but nuts to that, every day is special. Since I mentioned coquettes before I have to say that the Paragon bra is absolutely perfect if one is feeling particularly coquettish. Its sexy black lace but the pastel accents make it just a little delicate.

I am going to have to give credit where credit is due - when it comes to cute underthings Lane Bryant actually delivers. While the vast majority of their product line underwhelms me the Cacique intimates line is chock full of very attractive non-run of the mill bras in a wide range of sizes. Granted, the styles tend to be more sugar than spice but high five to LB for doing something right for once. The Polka Dot Plunge bra is a particularly cute option with its retro styled polka dots. Cup size isn't everything but its nice to have some new options. I found my size just fine in the first two links. Just because something isn't what you're looking for doesn't mean it isn't helping someone else out.
Frederick's of Hollywood is good for the more affordable side of spice. Most of their full figure bras go up to an F cup. They aren't good if you need a band size above 42 though.
lilacsigil: maybe you've tried this before, you can always take a bra to the tailor and have it made shorter.
I don't know the others, but Freya is great. On their website they show their stuff only with relatively small busted models. If you want to check out how the stuff looks on bigger busted women there is this German store that has reshot most of the bras they are offering with big busted models, not exactly in a totally tasteful way but it gives a clue on how the stuff looks on the actual target group: http://www.big-cups.de
Sadly, Lane Bryant's cute/pretty bras only go up to a DD or so cup. I wear a G and all I can get is an uncomfortable plain brown or (ugh) beige bra.
I get my bras from Bravissimo and my favorite brand is Panache-- band sizes only go up into the 40s though, I think.

I'm a 38C, so usually I can find a few cute bras in my size. I usually go to Dillard's, Target, and Charlotte Rousse. It's cute underwear I have trouble finding.
First of all: I love your site ! And to your question: I would have to recommend Miss Mandalay. Sadly, band size is only up to 40 but if you would only look at the design !! The cuts !! I have splurged on 2 and never once regretted it. Yes, they are a wee bit expensive but that feeling of being a femme fatale when you wear them ? Priceless !!
My "cute" bra is a fayreform. My tshirt-bras are the lemystere dream tisha and a chantelle something or other that was darn pricey.
It seems that the industry believes that anyone above a DD doesn't deserve a cute, nor can they wear any band smaller than a 36, maybe a 34. They also like to think that adding bows to DD+ cups makes them pretty. I don't think I've ever owned a bra that wasn't black or nude, except for when I was in high school and wearing a 36D (that I don't even thing was the right size, thinking back), they were all white. I'd love to have a brightly patterned bra, with fewer bows. Bows do not make me feel pretty.
I buy my bras whenever I go to NJ, my boyfriend lives 10 minutes away from a Bare Necessities shop, which carries "outrageous" combinations. Dillard's used to be my bra mainstay, but the nearest one from where I am is 45 minutes away, and I can't guarantee that I'd find something there. I remember the first time I found a 38F and had a fit, because holy crap, it's something above a DD! The old-lady clerk glared at me and my friends, like she was thinking "oh god, damn immature high schoolers laughing at peopl...." and as I found my size and stood up, her expression totally went from grumblegrumble to "oh." I wore one of them out of the shop, and promptly got hit on in the next shop I went to.
I've been meaning to start buying my LMDT bras on ebay, 33 dollars is by far better than 68+tax.
Also, I tried cacique when I was wearing a 36G/H. LB doesn't seem at all friendly to people wearing a 36G/H, they make maybe *one* bra for those sizes (last I checked, I'm wearing a 32G now, so I don't even bother), and it is awhite/black/nude utilibra.
Nordstrom sells a variety of larger-cupped bras, but the one I went to, the clerk-person was rude.
It's all about the fit. If you go to a store or worse yet, go online, and buy a bra just because it's cute, you're kidding yourself. This is true for any woman, but it is especially true for us large and beautiful women.
I discovered a small, local store specializing in lingerie a couple of years ago and I've been buying all my bras there ever since.
The fitting is key, because the sizes vary by manufacturer; some of my bras are 40F, some are 42E, and so on.
I used to have six or seven $40 bras. I threw them all away. (They were too crappy to give to Goodwill). I started out with 3 $100 - $200 bras. Every six or eight months I go back and buy one or two more and retire the most worn of my original collection.
Why spend that much money? You wear a bra every day of your life! It's the most important single garment you own. A bad bra can completely ruin your look. A good bra can take off 10 or MORE pounds and greatly improve your posture. If you don't believe me, take a stroll around the mall, and look at other women's chests. (OK, you'll have to be sly about this so you don't look like a total weirdo). You'll see more bad bras than you can count!
Each of the bras I wear now is gorgeous, comfortable, and fits perfectly. Some are from France, some are from England, and all were professionally fitted to me.
The shop I go to is located in Pleasanton, California, which is located in the Bay Area. It's a 45 minute drive from my house and it's worth every second. If you're not in Northern California, I suggest either Nordstrom (and if you find an unpleasant fitter, as the poster above did, complain to the department manager, and get a better one. That should NOT happen at Nordstrom) OR look around for a small local lingerie shop.

lilacsigil, you are correct. The band sizings from these companies can be found just about anywhere. I'm not impressed. I had to order a plain white bra from "Making It Big." Not glamorous, but it fits.
georges, larger people aren't lucky enough to find better "options." We are stuck with what we can find, which usually isn't fashionable or pretty. Please try to sympathize.
When last I checked I was still a larger person. Its not that I don't understand having to search for things - i personally have a hard time finding pants because I'm almost 6ft - everyone has their cross to bear. This helped me because I'm a larger cup size but my band size is smaller - maybe there can be another post on bras with bigger band sizes for people who have that issue??? I am not sure. Maybe someone can request it.
steffi, thanks for the link -- it was actually helpful to see the bras on non-B/C cup models. Chantelle and Fantasie are my go-to brands; I'm still wishing for the day when there will be an agent-provocateuresque (or even better, strumptet&Pink) lingerie site for larger women. But that's a long shot since most designers and manufacturers can't/won't imagine anyone larger than a size 8 finding anyone who would want to have sex with them, much less see them in anything less than an overcoat.
does anyone here know where to get bras for small cup sizes? i tend to wear a AA-A (depends on the manufacturer but mostly A) and alot of stores that cary bras in those sizes only put the nice stuff in B-DD (ex. victorias secret) or i can only find it in the kiddy section (very embarrasing). do any of you guys have tips for that or friends who have the same problem?

Ah the dreaded bra search, I know it well.Before I moved back east I was wearing custom made bras from a compnay in So Cali.I still have a few of those bras. Now for the most part I wear stuff in the stores.
For an everyday day bra I wear a lot of Wacaol which I usually purchase at Nordstroms. For more sexy , racy bras I wear Fantasie which I purchased at specialty bra shop, called the Townshop in NYC. I have small band size but a huge cup size. Technically I'm a 36 J my band size is a little smaller than 36 but bigger than a 34 but I wear a lot of 40 DDD. I wear a sports bra from Natori paired with some random brand from Target. I need double the support!
I often will try out random bra's but usually it's one time use.
If you have the money and the time I'm all for custom made bras, the fit and the quality is much better. I'm always on the search for new bras to wear I will definitely check out Freya but often go back to my old stand bys.
I am a 44DDD none of theese cute bras are in my size...thanks for the thought though. hah.
The LB bras come in 44DDD if that helps you. The polka dot one is sold out but if you just go to search by cup size they have a bunch.

I have to recommend Freya bras, especialy the pink one in the middle - I have it in 4 colourways and it can't be beaten, in my opinion! And as a 36J, trust me that I own a LOT of bras in my quest.
With regard to what others were saying about larger band sizs, have you tried Evans? They do cute and sexy bras in larger band sizes. They don't go very high in the cup though, so I can't buy there - I think they go up to an F. Worth a try though as I always see pretty designs there.

for your smaller forms I would recommend checking on alot of the japanese and korean sites. They have amazingly cute things (and sexy ;) ) for very small chests that aren't just training bra style. Unfortunately I cannot name the sites as I am very large chested but I have been living there for two years and have seen enough to know that is where i would go if I was tiny. I was really jealous of all the styles and variety they have. :) And the price!!! :O Cheap!

p.s. be warned though.. if you buy from asia.. most band sizes are in cm. So measure yourself in metric ;)(and cup sizes are usually one bigger than here... eg: our b is their c)

ooohhh I'm a 32E (or 10 E in Aus sizes) and I buy my bras from www.bravissimo.com in the UK. How I wish I was in the UK to get properly fitted as I suspect I could actually be a different size - but for now the bras work!! The BEST thing is bikini tops in my size!!! Woot woot!
Actually, go below a B or above a C and you'll get the same message: "You really don't count."
I'm a 36/37 A and it's ***really*** hard to find that combo in anything that doesn't smother your chest with padding (because hey, if you're the normal-weighted freak who needs a 36/37 band size, you MUST want to pad your TINY breasts because you're HORRIBLY disproportionate. feh and go jump off a bridge, underwear makers.)
Anyway, I hate bra-shopping in NYC. I suspect most women who aren't tiny, black-shrink-wrapped gym addicts do, too.

I vote for Prima Donna bras. Very pretty and come in big girl sizes. I was a 40G for a while and they were the only bras I could find that fit me well (I was professionally fitted). They are spendy, but so worth it.

I am a 36/38 DDD...so I know the challenge of small band large cup. Lane Bryant bras just dont work for me...The prettiest, most affordable bras I have found are Lunaire/Whimsy I got them at Dillards- and they have matching panties!
Oh- one more thing about Lunaire/Whimsy- dont be put off by the skinny gals w/implants you see on their website..I am a generous 16/18 and these bras support me like a good friend!
