Kate Dillon in Vogue Paris

Vogue Paris is in my opinion the world's premiere fashion magazine. They trump everyone else on the planet in terms of fresh viewpoints, daring ideas and exciting concepts. As such it is only fitting that they have embraced a plus model within their cutting edge pages. In their Tango Des Passions editorial they showcase the beauty of our favorite supermodel, Kate Dillon.

The editorial, show by the world renowned photographer Mario Testino is beautiful. I don't think I have ever seen a plus size model depicted in such a sexy and sensual manner. Not to mention the fact that these photos are elegant and artistic. I think this is an important editorial as it features models of different shapes together, presented as equally alluring. I'd like to see more of that in fashion magazines.

Exquisite. I haven't seen anything like this since the cover of MODE (blue dress, fixing her sandal strap)...I must find a copy of this somewhere. (Where does one find French Vogue?

Hee. Boobies. Hee.

Ok, now that the childishness is outta the way, whoa man. So beautiful.

The sad thing, according to me, is that this woman is considered a plus size model... She has the figure of s normal woman! I'd even say more: she is thinner than the normal woman.
I would be thrilled if I live to see the day that a beautiful girl like this is considered a normal model instead of a plus-sized one.

Which month is this from?

A couple years back, American Vogue had a Kate editorial photographed by Helmut Newton that was just stunning.

Kate gets more & more attractive with every year.

Miss J - my nearest large WH Smith often has Vogue Paris on the shelves. Which issue is it - September 06 or October 06?

(Apologies in advance - couldn't get those pics outta my mind so had to write this poem...)

Kate Dillon slinks thru Vogue Paree
Her sexiness for all to see
And there's no greater tribute we know
Than a shoot by M. Testino

As the night draws dark & sultry
Hips might drive men to adult'ry
Weaving tango legs caress
Seductive pose, a shimmering dress

To hypnotize those fashionistas,
Editors with skinny keisters,
Charmed by this curvaceous looker
In a crush they rush to book her

Winter, Summer, Spring or Autumn
Stepping out, she's city-walkin'
Traffic stops for just one reason -
Kate looks fine in every season

Hey there!

I'm new to your blog and I love it. (Found you through the Fashion Week Attendees thread on tfs.)

I also have qualms with sizing (I'm on the opposite end though, always battling anorexia comments despite my eating a tub of Ben & Jerry's per day ;p) and I think it's really cool what you've done here.

As an economist-in-training I liked your point about fashion designers claiming there is no market for clothing in larger sizes. Perhaps it's not so much the lack of the market they're concerned about but the lack of expertise they have designing clothes to hang properly on women with curves. What do you think?

Judging from you blog you've got style. I wish we had gotten to chat at fashion week! Maybe next time?

P.S. - Paris Vogue is also one of my favorites. That and Numero.

I'm glad everyone enjoys these pictures Kate is so fabulous! The editorial is actually from the February issue of Vogue Paris. I know its a few months back but I believe the issue can still be found in speciality magazine shops and/or on eBay. I know the magazine shop near me which sells back issues still has several copies. I can find their phone number and post it here if anyone likes. It really is an issue worth getting as the entire editorial is beautiful.

Kate is absolutely gorgeous. And I completely with the poster who said that it's too bad Kate is considered a plus size model. She is really a healty looking woman with a flat waist and beautiful curves. I would love to see her featured in more fashion editorials.

thanks for highlighting another gorgeous kate dillon spread...i never even bother to pick up french vogue because, well, its in french...if not for this site i would have missed it.

by the way, several years ago i worked at now-defunked Mode magazine and had the pleasure of meeting Kate Dillon. Not only is she even prettier in person (amazingly creamy, bright skin...great posture), but she is warm and friendly and radiates self confidence. she makes a fabulous role model from women of all sizes and shapes.
